P. D. Q. Bach ผู้ซึ่งไม่ได้เกี่ยวข้องอะไรกับ Johann Sebastian Bach แต่ทั้งหมดทั้งมวลคือการสร้างบทบาทสมมุติขึ้นมาโดยนักประพันธ์เพลง นักเสียดสี และอาจารย์ชาวอเมริกันนาม Peter Schickele เกิดวันที่ 17 กรกฎาคม ปี พ.ศ. 2478 โดยดนตรีของเขาจะผสมผสานการหยอกล้อต่าง ๆ แต่ไม่ลืมบางส่วนของดนตรียุค Baroque และ Classic เข้าด้วยกัน ซึ่งเป็นที่น่าสนใจและฮือฮาเป็นอย่างมาก
ชื่อ P. D. Q. มาจากการล้อเลียนชื่อคนสมาชิกในตระกูล Bach เช่น C. P. E. ที่ย่อมาจาก Carl Philipp Emanuel แต่สำหรับเขาที่เลือกใช้ P. D. Q. ซึ่งย่อมาจาก "pretty damned quick" แปลว่า "เร็ว ๆ นี้" หากตีความแบบขบขันอาจสื่อได้ว่า "ผู้ที่เร็ว ๆ นี้จะเป็น Bach"
นอกจากนั้นเขายังได้สร้างชีวประวัติสำหรับบทบาทสมมุตินี้ขึ้นมาอีกด้วยโดยทั้งหมดมีดังนี้
P. D. Q. Bach เกิดที่เมือง Leipzig ประเทศเยอรมัน วันที่ 1 เมษายน ปี พ.ศ. 2285 เป็นบุตรชายของ Johann Sebastian Bach และ Anna Magdalena Bach ซึ่งเป็นลูกคนที่ 21 จากลูกทั้ง 20 คน โดยเขาถูกเรียกว่าลูกคนสุดท้องและแปลกประหลาดที่สุดในลูก 20 คนของ "Johann Sebastian" หลังใช้ชีวิตและสร้างผลงานมากมาย จนกระทั่งเขาได้เสียชีวิตในวันที่ 5 พฤษภาคม พ.ศ. 2350 ที่น่าสนใจคือในภาพหน้าปกอัลบั้มหรือรายละเอียดต่าง ๆ ในผลงานของเขามักจะขึ้นวันเกิดและวันตายสลับกัน เช่น (พ.ศ.2350-2285)? หรือ (ค.ศ.1807-1742)?
